In this episode, I chat with a guest that we will call “Delilah.” (That is not her real name, so don’t be trying to search for Delilah’s thinking this is them. ;)) She talks about how she grew up with drug addicted parents who were never a great example of what a relationship should look like, which in turn got Delilah into some sticky situations, including the decision to have an abortion.*

Delilah felt like she had a normal childhood up until age 5. At that time, both of her parents began using drugs. Because of her parents absence while they were using, Delilah feels like she didn’t really have parents and did not have a good example of what a relationship was supposed to be like, which would affect her later in life.

_Delilah - Quote 1

At 16, her dad finally questioned what he had been doing and moved away from the mom with the kids. When they moved, Delilah started hanging out with the wrong crew. Their dad was always gone and then her sister moved out, so now Delilah was alone.

She ended up meeting her ex-husband. Delilah says she didn’t even really like him, but she just felt like no one wanted her so she stayed. After two kids, Delilah realized that wasn’t how a relationship should be and she wanted to be happy, so she left.

Delilah met someone new and got pregnant. She had struggled with infertility previously, so this was a surprise to her. Her new boyfriend was not happy about the pregnancy. Delilah ended up agreeing to the abortion, so they went to Vegas to have it done. There, Delilah found out it was twins. She said that made her decision even harder, but ultimately, still went with the abortion.

She said that after the abortion, her and the guy actually split up because he would never let her talk about it. It ate at her, but she couldn’t talk to anyone or cry about it. She began using drugs to numb the pain.

**UPDATE: This episode has since been removed due to Delilah’s anonymity being found. Some people recognized her voice and did not agree with her story. I went back and forth with Delilah on this issue and we agreed to remove the episode.**
